How to Clone a Project
To clone a project in Connect, navigate to your Dashboard and find the project you want to copy. Hover over the ellipses at the end of the project and select "Clone" from the drop down menu.
After you choose to clone a project, you will enter the Create a Study wizard. All of the details from your seed project will be automatically copied to the clone. Furthermore, everyone who participated in your seed project will be automatically excluded from the clone, unless you specify otherwise.
Note: Cloning a project automatically sets any seed project(s) to be automatically excluded. This ensures that the same participants do not participate in multiple projects in the same line of work. You can disable this exclusion by choosing to "Edit Targeting" and removing past studies from the exclusion criteria.
Reasons to Clone a Project
Cloning a project is useful when:
- You are running several similar projects and want to simplify the Create a Study wizard. Cloning automatically copies all past settings to your new project.
- You want to exclude everyone from a past project from taking part in your new project. Cloning will automatically exclude any seed projects from your current project.
- Your project closes and you decide to collect more data. Cloning your project can quickly and easily get you ready to collect more data.
